You can make a difference in Rotary!

Our members come from small business and from all levels in local organisations such as government, law, finance, transport, health, and education - but we all have one thing in common - a desire to make a positive difference in the world.

Rotary is huge on the international stage - even has a seat at the UN, but it is just as strong at the local community level. You can choose to work on a range of local community projects or get involved with amazing overseas projects such as helping to keep girls at school in India or repairing birth defects in children in Bangladesh or maybe you have a favourite project you would like to bring to the Club? - the opportunities are endless - choice is yours

As a prospective member there is no cost for attending your first two meetings - so why not come along to a meeting to see how we operate.

What's in it for me?

  • Expand your network of friends and business acquaintances.
  • Be part of a progressive organisation that makes a real difference to people's lives with amazing humanitarian or simply get involved in some local community projects.
  • Be part of the world’s most successful and influential service organisation with 1.2 million members worldwide.
  • Work "hands-on" on projects or, if you prefer, use your skills behind the scenes to help with Club and project management tasks.
  • Make a difference in almost any area of humanitarian need - as well as our major projects we also work to address slavery, access to education, poor sanitation, disaster relief, etc.

FAQ

Do I have to attend every Club meeting?
No, this is not necessary. Many members have business, family or other commitments and can't always attend meetings. A regular newsletter keeps you up to date with what is happening at the Club.

What happens at Club meetings?
Meetings start promptly at 6:30am and finish at 7:30am sharp. There is a minimum of formality, no anthems, oaths, or toasts - just a friendly get-together where we discuss Club projects, listen to a guest speaker, and then catch up with colleagues over dinner.

What makes Rotary unique?
The combination of networking and humanitarian service creates a unique environment where friendships can thrive, the poor and less fortunate are assisted and personal rewards are maximised.

How much does it cost?
There is no joining fee, and the annual membership cost is around$325. When you attend a meeting, it costs $5 plus dinner and drinks you order with the Bowling Club when you arrive. Fundraising activities are designed to raise money from the public, not from Club members!

How much time does it take?
Four to five hours a month is typical. Whatever time you can commit is enough for us and it is NOT essential to attend weekly meetings.  Members vary greatly in the time they commit - parents with young children can't allocate much time but a retired person may have more time to spare.

I no longer work - can I still join Rotary?
Most definitely! The main criterion for joining Rotary is your commitment to helping others. Retirees have a wealth of skills and experience and are most welcome in Rotary Clubs.

We have vacancies for new members, and we would love to hear from you!

We ask that you attend a couple of our meetings to get to know us and better understand what we do. This will allow you to meet some members and learn about the amazing work we do. We're sure you'll be impressed! Given the current COVID issues, the simplest way is to contact us via CONTACT US

Membership of a Rotary Club is by invitation, so you need to attend at least two of our club meetings to familiarise yourself with the club before you are invited to join. The process from first visit to becoming a member usually takes 4-5 weeks. Please note that Rotary has no political or religious affiliations, so these things play no part in Rotary meetings or activities.
